    you may think its disgusting but i have use a “special” dip for the dumplings:
    vinegar, sesame oil, and a piece of raw garlic (to eat it along the dumplings), with this i can eat A LOT of dumplings

    @splitza it’s originally a chinese food (it’s called “jiaozi”) .
    Chinese food is very popular in Japan. Specially Ramen, Gyoza, and Mabo Tofu. :)

  16. squishinicci Says:

    @Faleene they are definately much stronger in taste than the western spring onions I get over here. The taste and smell is different. It is sometimes also called Chinese Chive.

  17. Faleene Says:

    Garlic chives? I think you’re is referring to ăȘがねぎ, in which case it’s more commonly called Green Onions.

    And thanks for the tips for what to add to shoyu –rayu and sesame oil! Ah I finally know the secret!

  18. Faleene Says:

    @RP88888 Hm? Cook it on both sides? Since the gyoza is boiled first, I don’t think it’s necessary to brown the gyoza on all three sides. The browning is pretty much optional anyway.
