Part 2 is now done and covers power generation: www.youtube.com Harness the wind for less than 0. DIY vertical wind turbine of the Savonius style. Notable is that this cost less than 0 in materials so far and that the largest part of this turbine is recycled materials (the PVC drums previously held Balsamic Vinegar from Italy). Also, this turns well in a very light wind. Axle: 3 inch PVC piping from Home Depot Bearings: 5 inch lazy suzan from Lowes. Part 2 will cover power generation and connection to the battery bank.

    good luck proving anything in a court of law. unless you have a video, the PIG’s word is all the court has to go by. oink oink

    @panterafist
    The only chance you got is if it got taped and got on news. Otherwise, 0 chance

  3. panterafist Says:

    @tjl1297
    Unfortunately, this might not work. They may get upset, beat you up, and charge you with assaulting police officer.
    You can’t win in court. Like in any other video

  4. Pafoofnik1 Says:

    @tjl1297: Sorry, no. An officer can ‘ask’ to search, but he usually needs consent or probable cause to demand to search a vehicle. Being nervous and stuttering are not illegal so cannot be the basis for a probable cause search.

  5. fakecrayonz Says:

    Hell no, the boys (cops) dont care about your rights, they will take you down anyway.

  6. tjl1297 Says:

    if the officer has a logical reason, he can search you, example: if your nervous and studdering, the officer may ask to look inside your car and search you.

  7. J4edong Says:

    @Pafoofnik1 I too agree with mechanixhoresman, refusing a search does not justify a search. If an officer does search your vehicle after you refused a search, it is an illegal search.

  8. klaudias10001 Says:

    so the fukken piggs cant searchyou even if they want to wtf fukk that fukk da school cop he aint gunna search me anymore lol

  9. mynamemahj Says:

    just print the card out from norml says your rights and shit, hand it to a pig and they cant touch you without reasonable cause, if they see the weed in your hand then you’re fucked though

  10. NitroRhino Says:

    Nobody told Rodney King that

  12. TrueWan07 Says:

    @wolfhunter4554 lmao, what did you do? let him search you?

  13. gelfl Says:

    don’t have anything to hide and you won’t care if you are searched or not, so what they will search anyway yeah sue them….from your prison cell

  14. avianneandco Says:

  16. yipdog Says:

    this shit just happened to me last saturday, scarriest shit of my life. but the cops were were actually really nice and didnt arrest usor anything, just called our parents, which still sucked but at least we were okay with the law

  17. drunkenp0t Says:

    fuck the police

  18. mechanixhorseman Says:

    @Pafoofnik1

    Correct.

  19. Pafoofnik1 Says:

    @mechanixhorseman: OK. Your comment sounded like you believe that a car can be impounded for anything, like a refusal to search, instead of needing probable cause that a crime has been or is being committed.

    So you agree that refusing a search cannot be the basis for probable cause to search, or impound.

    Thanks!

  20. mechanixhorseman Says:

    @Pafoofnik1

    No, not for refusing a search. Your entire vehicle may be seized as evidence (and impounded in order to do so). The key words being exigent circumstances. If there is probable cause, such as an overwhelming smell of weed coming from your car, it may be seized as evidence, to prevent you from driving off and ditching it. The house thing is a different kind of exigent circumstance, but generally the same concept, ie; your flushing your stash down the toilet.

  21. Pafoofnik1 Says:

    @mechanixhorseman: Impound for what, refusing a search? Sorry, not true. It looks like you are confusing a vehicle search with a house search.

  22. mechanixhorseman Says:

    @mellowdalyricist

    That is incorrect. Your rights don’t change just because the party conducting the search does. There are three ways an LEO can search your car. You can consent (easiest, and will look a lot better for you in court after you are inevitably searched anyways ), they can obtain a warrant from the local magistrate or they can just impound your car and conduct an inventory, under the exigent circumstance that you would be able to drive away and destroy or remove any evidence.

  24. mechanixhorseman Says:

    Lol, real quick way to get your car impounded, and subsequently searched, or in this case “inventoried” anyways. The justification is called exigent circumstances. Know the best way to not get your car searched? Don’t draw attention to yourself and don’t be a jackass to the police officer.

  25. thatartchannel Says:

    @bholman801 if it gets complicated
    bring in the dutch ;)

  26. 518schenectady Says:

    would it be possible to make or design a window mounted mini or micro wind turbine unit. have the wind turbine producing a small amount of heat to help keep your house warmer in the winter. maybe have the wind turbine connected directly to a heat dump load. people that live in cold climates would most likely buy a lot of them. people buy air conditoners to keep cool this would be a green easy way for people to help heat homes. if anyone can make something like this please mail me

  27. BoldSister9 Says:

    You need a battery and a cable and a reservoir

  28. ihsanbu Says:

    very nice work
    thank you

  29. roastoo00ooveges Says:

    Looks like a big wind powered potatoe peeler.

  30. HomeWindTurbines7 Says:

    Cool idea. Recycling is great idea. Have you run it up in a high wind to see how it holds up?

  31. ThomasTitus69 Says:

    I like the direction you are going with this preliminary trials. I also like the idea of using the heavier metal drums to carry the momentum taking some of the peaks and valleys out of the gusts. To do this I recommend a frictionless bearing like earth magnets.

  32. embeddedprogrammer Says:

    @E58565254 I would like to see a video of this.

  33. E58565254 Says:

    i built a very similar turbine using only one of these 55 gallon drum and found that a quarter inch steel shaft running through the barrel connected on either side by professional steel enclosed flange bearings decreased the resistance on it. without a load on the barrel it was able to start up in swirling winds under 5mph. i was also able to give it a good spin, come back in 20 to 30 minutes later and see it still spinning in dead air.

  34. ACHO1org Says:

    good job

  35. mtaj1981 Says:

    little noisy don’t yea think?

  36. timo5494 Says:

    the purpose is to find ways to help the planet we as ppl have slowy messed up ,,, so instead of being neg about this we should come together to make the idea better , I think the thinking behind this vid was a good thing for us

  37. viking1au Says:

    Those Lazy Susan bearings are very noisy.

  38. johnnyboypdq Says:

    IT’S ALIVE!

  39. conoba Says:

    That is propably not going to last very long. Especially in the rain.

  40. embeddedprogrammer Says:

    @1heliosik Please check out part 2 for the answer to your questions.

  41. 1heliosik Says:

    Now, what’s the purpose of this??? The last thing I want to do is put something ugly like this under my deck, so I can see it spin… Am I missing something here? Why don’tl you try puting a generator on this thing!!

  42. LiquidChem Says:

    YOU can SEE WIND! :D

  43. SmallWindTurbines Says:

    Cool video. It’s a neat recycling idea. Will the PVC hold up in a heavy wind?

  44. co1950 Says:

    to help you get a strait cut try using an angle grinder with a cut off wheel. the plastic will get hot at the point of contact but very strait cut

  45. flightmaster78 Says:

    True, this is much more practical shape then traditional wind turbines that are made today worldwide. Also it looks more friendly for environment.

  46. villagefem Says:

    Pls. make not there are women watching also… So let the few HeeHaww all they want…. We ladies are learning Something Groovy……thnxs.

  47. heycolslaw Says:

    a little slick50 grease would quiet & lubricate those bearings nicely! make ‘em last longer too!

  48. ultrakool Says:

    @Harwkins39 yeah, at least paint them tan to blend in

  49. embeddedprogrammer Says:

    Please check out part 2 of this video for the answer to that.
